One of my major pet peeves are when information is shown as survival recommendations that are unsafe. Many times these things are for ratings or to make the content more exciting. The problem with this is that when normal people try this information they are risking death. We have seen the people who choose to repel a waterfall or traverse a canyon without the proper gear.
These activities are very dangerous and for your normal person this is going to result in certain death. This isn’t to say survival situations may not result in having to do risky activities but these risks should be evaluated on the chances of success and what the payoff is. This will be different for many different people. For example the person who is an experienced climber may have experience repelling but not with using gun powder to seal a wound. Where as a person who has never climbed may not have the strength needed to traverse a canyon without falling.
My next few posts will be about survival in the outdoors. My goal here is to give you good information that isn’t tv shows, websites, and other garbage giving risky and dangerous advice. I am hoping to have every reader always return home safe and sound on every trip. We will go over information that is safe and also about the evaluation of these risks. Again I thank you for reading and I hope you will follow me on social media or the email list so you don’t miss the following posts. Lastly in the comments please tell me what the craziest survival advice you have ever been given, seen on tv, or seen anywhere else has been.
